The Temptations In The Desert

Jesus had to defeat satan at all three levels  -  physical, soulish and spiritual  -  in order to reverse the consequences of Adam and Eve's disobedience in the Garden of Eden, where satan had managed to gain control to become the ruler of this world ( "The reason the Son of God came into the world was to destroy the works of the devil." 1 JOHN 3:8

Our Spiritual Battle Is At All Three Levels

Just as Jesus was attacked and tested by satan at the physical, soulish and spiritual levels, so we too will find the warfare is at all three levels.

The Challenge For Jesus: God's Way vs My Way

The challenge was to doubt God's ability to meet all our needs of body, soul and spirit and to go our own (ie satan's) rebellious way as Adam and Eve had done in the Garden of Eden  -  in other words, whether to go GOD'S WAY or MY WAY
