The Choice Is Heaven Or Hell

The Rich Man wants Abraham to warn his five brothers on earth about the reality of life after death and of heaven & hell.

Abraham replies that they have all the evidence they need already in God's Written Word - The Law of Moses and The Books of the Prophets in the Old Testament.

The Rich Man retorts " No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent."

The Point of the Parable   LUKE 16:31 

Jesus closes the parable with the following prophetic words, spoken by Abraham: 

"If they do not believe Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced, even if someone rises from the dead."

God Doesn't Send People To Hell: The Choice Is Ours   JOHN 3:16-18

In these famous verses Jesus says that the choice of heaven or hell after we die is ours. He is saying:

• God loved the world so much he sent his Son Jesus Christ to die in our place to save us from going to hell.

• God did not do this to condemn the world to hell but to warn us about our need to repent of our sins

• But if we refuse to repent and reject Jesus' death on the cross to pay the penalty our sins deserve, God's holiness and need to punish sin will result in our going to hell      

CS Lewis put it succinctly in The Great Divorce when he wrote:

"There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God 'Thy will be done', and those to whom God says in the end 'Thy will be done.' All that are in Hell choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell." (pages 6-7)

Is There Really Life After Death? The Evidence From Clinical Death Experiences

American cardiologist Dr Maurice Rawlings has conducted research into the testimonies of people who have had Clinical Death Experiences and survived to tell their stories. Dr Rawlings was an atheist who did not believe in heaven and hell. But his views changed after witnessing the experiences of patients who passed through his emergency room.

His research resulted in a book and video testimonies of people who had experienced the reality of heaven and hell entitled TO HELL & BACK.
