What Is 'Biblical' Meditation?

Biblical meditation is ‘chewing over’ a passage in the Word of God and allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to me as I do so. In this way God can speak his truth into my heart by revelation of the Holy Spirit through his Written Word.

A cow has three stomachs and chews the grass it eats three times until it has absorbed all the nutrients in it. Biblical meditation is chewing over the Word of God to hear God speaking to us.

In PSALM 119:97 the psalmist says: Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.

The Difference Between Biblical & New Age Forms Of Meditation

Biblical meditation is the complete opposite of New Age and other modern forms of meditation, which encourage you to empty your mind and allow it to be filled with thoughts from who-knows-where.

Biblical meditation involves filling one's mind with Scripture and cheqing over a verse or passage and allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to us.
