Making Allowances For Others
Christ died on the Cross for our sins
Painting by Eugene Delacroix
.................Means Going Back To The Cross
If you're having difficulty making allowances for the faults of others, you need to.....
• GO BACK TO THE CROSS & SEE WHAT IT COST GOD TO FORGIVE YOU.
• TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHY the person behaves in this way
• ASK YOURSELF HOW YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED in a similar situation
• WALK A MILE IN THE OTHER'S MOCCASINS ie put yourself in their shoes
God's Grace & Mercy To Sinners
All through the Bible we see examples of God's patience and mercy towards sinners like us. The psalmist David describes God in PSALM 103:8-14 -
The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever.
He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
A Parable About A Merciless Steward MATTHEW 18:21-35
Q What had the king done for the man who owed him a large sum of money?
Q How did the man repay the king for his incredible act of mercy?
Q What action did the king take when he heard what had happened?
What point is Jesus making in this parable?
