Seven Signs Confirming Jesus' Claims To Be The Messiah
The Jews had been waiting for the arrival of God's Anointed One - The Messiah - for hundreds of years before Jesus was born.
They knew that when Messiah came, he would authenticate his claims by performing a number of miraculous 'signs'.
John records seven in his gospel to support Jesus' claim to be the Messiah.
The table above summarises these 'signs'.
The Ultimate 'Sign' Of Messiahship: Raising A Dead Person
Of all the signs for which the Jews looked in the Messiah, the ultimate proof was his ability to raise a dead person to life.

Note:
Verses 25-26 are almost universally translated as in the NIV translation:
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
The problem is that this is patently untrue! Every one of us will die physically, unless Christ returns before that happens. And Jesus didn't say that.
The Greek text of verse 26 reads:" whoever lives believing in me will not die eis aiona = for ever." The KJV translates this phrase as "perish" - ie although we all suffer physical death, those who have put their faith in Christ will not experience eternal separation from God in hell.
