Jesus & Other Religions

Who Is Jesus?
Jesus asks them two questions to see if they are ready to receive the news that he's actually going to die.
First of all, he asks:
"Who do people say that I am?"
The disciples offer various rumours that have been going about.
"Some say you're John the Baptist come back from the dead after being executed by Herod."
"Others say you're Elijah or one of the prophets, like Jeremiah."
Who Do You Say Jesus Is?
Then came the crunch question:
"But who do you say that I am?
Peter, big-mouth, always putting both feet in it - comes out with an inspired confession:
"You're the Messiah (Greek Christos=Hebrew Mashiah), the Son of the Living God."
And Jesus says:
"You're absolutely right, Peter. But those are not your words - they were divinely-inspired by my heavenly Father."
Jesus Christ Is LORD Of All
And Jesus went on to say:
"You are Cephas (Hebrew=Rock; Greek Petros=Rock) and on this rock (Greek Petra) (what you have just said) I'm going to build my Church of called out ones. (Greek ekklesia=assembly of called out ones).
"And do you know what - The Gates of Hell are not going to be able to withstand it/them."
All Other So-Called Gods & Goddesses Will Bow The Knee To Jesus Christ As LORD Of All
In other words, all other so-called gods and goddesses of all the different world religions are not going to be able to withstand the Church of Jesus Christ because at the Cross at Calvary where he was going to die, he was going to defeat sin, death and satan by rising again from the tomb and ascending back to heaven.
One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is King of kings and LORD of lords to the glory of God the Father. (PHILIPPIANS 2:8-10)
