Jesus' Death & Resurrection Are The Guarantee Of Resurrection
Read JOHN 14:1-10; JOHN 11:1-50; 1 CORINTHIANS 15:1-58; 2 CORINTHIANS 1:21-22; 2 CORINTHIANS 5:5; EPHESIANS 1:13-14; HEBREWS 2:14-15
NOTE: The word Paul uses for "guarantee" or "deposit" is the Greek word arrabon, which also means "an engagement ring".
The Christian's Hope
For the Christian the prospect of death and dying should be radically different from that of the rest of the world that has no hope. That's because we have the assurance of eternal life with God in heaven, based on
• The promises in the Bible, especially those of Jesus himself
• The historical resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ from the grave
• The witness of the Holy Spirit within us.
Assurance Of Life After Death
If you have been born again and know the presence of the Holy Spirit today, death is not the end, but simply the gateway into God's presence and the eternal life Jesus promised to all who put their trust in him.If you don't have that assurance and sense the Holy Spirit telling you to put that right, you might like to go to A PRAYER INVITING JESUS CHRIST TO BE LORD.
